Main Dishes Chef

- Full Time -

Duties

  • To support the chef manager and the head chefs in the general running of the kitchen.

  • To ensure the kitchen meets high standards of quality.

  • To prepare the food for cooking

  • To ensure that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.

  • To prepare the food for cooking.

  • To follow the budget set by the Chef Manager.

  • To ensure standard portions and quality of dishes.

  • To study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients.

  • To Cook food in a timely manner.

  • To ensure appealing plate presentation.

  • To slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy).

  • To monitor food stock and place orders.

  • To check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items.

  • To experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients.

  • To ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of Oriental food.

  • Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook.

  • Culinary school diploma preferred.

  • Preferrable 2 years relevant experience.

  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment and best practices.

  • Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.

  • Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks.

  • Excellent time management abilities.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes.

  • Familiarity with sanitation regulations.

  • Bilingual English/ Chinese a plus.
